our story

Our martial arts journey began in 2011 with Hapkido, laying the foundation for discipline, movement, and control. In 2016, we expanded our training to include Muay Thai and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, deepening our understanding of striking and grappling arts. This diverse background has shaped our coaching philosophy, allowing us to offer a well-rounded and adaptable approach to martial arts.

After years of teaching and training at Movement Martial Arts, we always knew the next step was building something of our own. A gym built on hard training, where people grow alongside friends and find a true sense of community through martial arts. That vision became Control Martial Arts: a space shaped by everything we’ve learned on the way, built with intention and rooted in the values that have always mattered most to us.

We want our grapplers to be well-rounded, drawing from our individual specialisations to develop a complete skill set. Whether you're focused on top control, guard work, or submission hunting, we welcome everyone from aspiring competitors to dedicated hobbyists. Here, you'll find high-level coaching in a supportive, friendly environment where growth and improvement are always the focus.

We’re always available after class to answer questions, provide guidance, or just talk training. If there’s ever something we don’t know, we’ll find the answer and share it with you. Our commitment is to your success, and we strive to create a space where you can thrive, improve, and reach your full potential
